The Dolcetto d’Alba of Oddero is an extraordinary red wine with an intense ruby red color with violet reflexes. The aroma is fresh and fruity, with ripen cherry, black berry and currant notes. The taste is dry, with a good structure, rich and persistent, pleasantly bitter on the final. It is perfect if drunk with cured meats and cheeses of medium aging, first courses, risotto and grilled red meats.
All along Oddero family is owner of vineyards, so it is very difficult to establish a precise beginning of the wine making process. Lorenzo and Luigi started to produce wine at the end of 800, starting from their vineyards of La Morra. Giacomo Oddero, grandfather of the present manager of this cave, took part of the International Exposition of Torino in 1991, where he proposed his Barolo wine. Presently the winery is carried on by Mariacristina and Mariavittoria, who have inherited by their father the cult of wine and its origins.
