More info

Roero Riserva Mompissano by Cascina Cà Rossa is produced with 100% Nebbiolo grapes and the ageing in wood barrels is quite long. Mompissano is the name of the vineyard where the grapes are harvested, but also one of the Geographic naming of Roero appellation. The colour is intense with dark garnet shades. The bouquet is complex, energic, with hints of ripe fruits, pepper, cinnamon. The structure is made up of freshness and alcoholic strength. The after-taste is persistent, soft and tannic. We recommend it with typical Roero starters, such as raw meat tartare, vitello tonnato, insalata russa. Ideal pairing with matured cheese, grilled and seasoned red meat, game.

Manufacturer

The cave is situated in Canale, exactly in the so-called locality ‘Case Sparse’, and the Responsible of it is Angelo Ferrio. The prestige of this wine maker is to agree the different tastes of the critic, that is a difficult task. Ahead of Ferrio’s Roero wines people are surprised, maybe because his Nebbiolo’s vineyards are situated in a good position, maybe because Angelo Ferrio is a friendly producer: moreover, he is able to create wines that reveal determination and naturalness, but at the same time they reflect the character of Roero’s territory.
