The Sauvignon Voglar of Peter Dipoli is an elegant white wine which takes its name from the area where there are the vineyards of the cave: in fact ‘Voglar’ is a term that derives from the dialectal expression ‘fogolar’, that means fireplace. The sandy and chalky nature of this soil gives birth to a wonderful white wine, that includes intense perfumes of exotic fruits, in addition to some vegetal smell typical of the Sauvignon. The wine is a bit sour, but endowed with a body and a structure and it can tolerate a long period of aging in bottle. It is perfect with starters and fish dinners, grilled vegetables and goat cheeses.
The Peter Dipoli winery was founded in Trentino in 1987 in the town of Cortaccia by the volcanic Peter Dipoli, who currently grows just less than five hectares of vineyards from which he obtains Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The philosophy of Peter Dipoli is that to produce wines of absolute quality and finesse, starting from a meticulous work in the vineyard, selecting only the best grapes.
