This Barbera d’Alba is produced with the grapes that derive from the “Bricco Manescotto” vineyard, on the hills of La Morra. The wine presents an intense ruby red colour with yellow-crowned nuances, while the smell reveals an elegant and fruited bouquet, with hints of mature red fruit, plum and black cherries. This wine is endowed with a good structure and an high acidity in balance with a good fruit; furthermore, it accompanies salami, first courses and medium seasoned cheeses.
This cave was founded by Lorenzo Scavino and his son Paolo in 1921 in Castiglione Falletto. The winery counts about 23 hectares of vineyards, that allow the cave to sell 120000 bottles every year. Nowadays the wines’ production is managed by Enrico Scavino, together with his two daughters. The Scavino’s winery is known for its care and attention and for the belief that the viticulture is more important than the oenology. The wines distinguish themselves for the purity, the elegance and the twine of traditions and territories.
