The Chardonnay of Pojer e Sandri winery is a superb white wine made in Faedo, in the Trentino region.
With a beautiful straw yellow color with greenish nuances, at nose it gets off an intense and fruity bouquet, with notes of apple, banana, pineapple in addition to moss and dried fruit hints on the background.
In mouth, it is wide and composite, with well-balanced freshness and acidity.
It is excellent to drink chilled as an aperitif or in combination with fish dishes, vegetable soups, first vegetarian dishes and typical cheeses of Trentino, like the Asiago cheese.
Pojer and Sandri’s cave arises in 1975, thanks to a meeting between Fiorentino Sandri and Mario Pojer, who wanted to launch a winery to produce high quality wine, starting from the vineyards situated between the Adige and the Cembra Valley, in Trentino. The first wine, produced in 1975, was a good Muller Thurgau, endowed with an elegant and precious taste, followed by the Chardonnay’s production. Little by little the cave increased its sizes, up to the present 26 hectares of vineyards, arranged on 6 different districts. In 1982 a distillery was built , and this was one of the first to produce grappa: all the spirits, the brandy and the other grappa derive from the regional raw material produced in the cave, as currant or quinces. Recently the cave has gained lot of success, following the creation of a new kind of wine, the Merlino, a specialty to combine with chocolate.
