Thanks to his tenacity and his modern ideas, Angelo Gaja has managed to change some aspects about the oenology of Piedmont and the production of excellent wines, which have an international reputation. This “Dagromis” Barolo wine takes the name from the Gromis family, that was owner of a vineyard situated in La Morra: from this one derive a part of grapes used for the production of this type of wine. The colour of this wine is an intense pomegranate-colored, with wonderful orange nuances; the most interesting aspect is that this wine impresses for its intense and complex bouquet with floral hints of rose and violet, besides blueberries and strawberries, jams, in addition to black pepper and licorice ones. Its remarkable characteristics make of it a warm and charming wine, endowed with a good capacity of aging. So, it is perfect if drunk together with important platters, as red meat roasts, braised meats, game and seasoned cheeses.

The cave was built in 1859 in Barbaresco, in the centre of the Langhe, and all along it is recognized as one of the name-symbol in the production of Barbaresco. From the creator Giovanni to Angelo Gaja, this family has earned a great reputation in wine’s sector thanks to its attentive pursuit of quality. In the 60s years Angelo Gaja has decided to innovate the traditions and to import new productive techniques: from the destruction of the production for hectare to a greater control of fermentation temperatures, from the use of the barrique to the replacement of longer tops. The past as experience, the future as purpose: this is the philosophy of this successful winery.
