More info

The Barolo Via Nuova of E. Pira e Figli is an excellent red wine that is made with Nebbiolo grapes coming from prestigious vineyards in the Barolo area. On view, it shows a beautiful ruby red color, while at nose it gets off wide scents of dried flowers, dried fruits, citrus and almonds. In mouth, it is complex and strong with tannins long and persistent. This is a great wine for meditation but it is also excellent in combination with red meat, game, truffle dishes and medium seasoning cheeses.

Manufacturer

Pira family asserts as wine producer between the end of 800 and the beginning of the 900. Gigi Pira, the creator of this cave, was really attached to the tradition, in fact he was the last wine maker who still effected the wine pressing with the foot, without the help of any innovative technique. The cave is managed by Cristina Boschis from many years: all along she is passionate of wine and vineyards. Cristina has introduced lots of innovations in the winery: the work in the vineyards is manual, but she respects the environment.
