More info

The Arneis is an ancient vine variety characterizd by white berries; it’s cultivated only in Piedmont and in particular in the Roero hills. With a typical brilliant and intense straw yellow colour, this wine is dedicated to the grandfather Francesco, well-known as “Cecu d’la Biunda”. The scent of it is strong and floreal, with scents of apricot, apple and white currant and the taste of it is refined and fresh. This sapid and well-structured Arneis is perfect to drink in combination with main courses made with fish, risotti or white meat.

Manufacturer

Situated in Canale and in the heart of the Roero area, Monchiero Carbone winery has been founded in 1987. Marco Monchiero, a well-known enologist, and his wife Lucetta Carbone decided to unite the plots of their two families, who began to make wine at the beginning of 1900 and stopped a few years ago. The production of wine restarted in 1990, also because of the son Francesco who began to have enological studies. In the last years, the estate has grown up, thanks to the implantation of new vineyards: one of Arneis grapes on the Renesio hill, in Canale, and another one of nebbiolo grapes in the Anime hamlet. Mombirone and Printi vineyards, which are families propriety from many years, has been doubled.
