Barbera d'Alba doc Granera Alta Cascina Chicco 2017

This elegant Barbera d’Alba is produced with grapes coming from the “Granera Alta” vineyard, that is collocated on the hills of Castellinaldo, once upon a time it belonged to Malabaila noble title of Canale. The wine shows an intense ruby red colour with some yellow-crowned reflexes, while the smell reveals an intense bouquet of mature red fruit, in addition to hints of plum, black cherries, vanilla and spices. This kind of Barbera is endowed with a good structure, an intense and persistent taste and for its peculiarities it accompanies perfectly cannelloni, lasagne, platters based on meat, salami and medium seasoned cheeses.

The estate of Cascina Chicco has deep roots in the heart of the Roero and it explains the old rural culture and the passion for vineyards and wine of this territory. His consolidated tradition of wine makers has increased both by oenological modern competences, and by the other vineyards’ acquisitions in the most famous regions of the Roero. Today Cascina Chicco cultivates 35 hectares of vineyards all in hill, and the estate gains, with a great satisfaction, a huge production of Arneis, Nebbiolo d’Alba, Roero, Barbera d’Alba, Favorita and Brachetto.
