More info

The Barbera D'Alba "Bricco del Cuculo" of the winery Castello di Verduno is a wine made with 100% of Barbera grapes, produced on the “Bricco del Cuculo” hill in Barbaresco. This exceptional Barbera at the sight shows a beautiful intense ruby red color; at the nose it develops an intense and frank bouquet with notes of spice, red fruits and flowers. Well structured and with an excellent freshness, the Barbera d'Alba “Bricco del Cuculo” is perfect if drunk in combination with roasted or braised meats, first courses with ragout sauce and well seasoned cheeses.

Manufacturer

The history of the the Castello di Verduno winery has its roots in the 1838, the year in which Re Carlo Alberto of Savoia purchased the Castle. He entrusted the management to General Staglieno, who was a military man and an expert enologist: he obtained a great wine from the best vineyards of Nebbiolo, the Barolo of Castello di Verduno. At the beginning of 1900’s the Burlotto family became the owner of the Castle and pursued the tradition in the wine making of Savoia. Nowadays Gabriella, Elisa and Liliana Burlotto manage the property producing great red wines, obtained by the wonderful combination of tradition, natural approach and great competence.
