More info

The "Sansannée" sparkling wine of the Marcalberto winery is made with Pinot Nero and Chardonnay grapes; it is aged in wood for around 6 months and it spends 2 years on its own yeasts in bottles before being released on the market. The Sansannée shows a great straw yellow with golden reflections and fine and persistent bubbles. In the nose it gives off an intense and composite bouquet, with fragrances of dry pastries and hazelnuts. On the palate it is fresh and round, thus favoring a long and balanced final. Our sommelier strongly recommends to drink it as an aperitif, or alternatively, combined with white meat or fish.

Marcalberto

The Marcalberto winery is a small family-run business set in Santo Stefano Belbo; it was founded by the oenologist Piero Cane and it produces exclusively “Spumanti Metodo Classico”. From 1996 the management passed to the brothers Marco and Alberto who followed with passion each step of wine-making, taking at best advantage of the six hectares of Pinot Nero and Chardonnay that give life to some of the best sparkling wines in the area. The winery, created in a historic house of the 19th century built with stone and tuff, produces over 30,000 bottles a year of “Spumanti Metodo Classico”.
