Langhe Nebbiolo doc Il Favot Poderi Aldo Conterno 2020

The Langhe Nebbiolo Il Favot by the prestigious Poderi Aldo Conterno winery set in Monforte, is produced with grapes coming from vineyards that have at least 15 years. The special producing ensures that the wine has the maximum color and few tannins. With a beautiful ruby red color, at nose it develops a floral and spicy bouquet, with notes of wild berries, violet, tobacco and vanilla. In the mouth it is full-bodied, mineral, with a good acidity. With a long and persistent final, the Nebbiolo Il Favot by Poderi Aldo Conterno combines perfectly with agnolotti with ragù sauce, roasted and braised meats.

In 1954 Aldo Conterno moved to San Francisco to his relatives, because he wanted to found a cave in the Napa Valley. But his wish did not become a reality, because he took part to the American army and so he worked some years in Korea. After this experience, Aldo returned to Italy, where he finally managed to create an own cave in Monforte d’Alba, in the Langhe territory. Aldo Conterno has been identified as the most excellent wine makers of Piedmont, and his wines distinguish themselves for simplicity and quality. After his death, the winery has passed to his three sons that manage the cave and its vineyards.
