The Passito Canthus of Colterenzio is an extraordinary passito wine made with Petit Manseng grapes grown on the hills around Cornaiano and harvested overripe just before winter. With a beautiful golden yellow color, on the nose Canthus develops an intense and composite bouquet, with notes of exotic fruits, caramel and dried fruit. Fresh and balanced in the mouth, with a sweet and persistent final, it is perfect if drunk in combination with fruit pies, desserts or blue cheeses.
The Colterenzio winery was established in 1960 by 28 wine makers, and in the course of the time more and more producers have added to them until the 300 of today: they work in a surface of 300 hectares. The quality of soils, as well as the wine of this locality was recognized around 15 before Christ., when Cornelius lodged there by laying the foundations for the Colterenzio vineyards. The cornerstones of the winery’s philosophy are naturalness, respect for traditions and use of modern technologies, in fact the three kind of wines that the cave produces, follow these ideas: there are classic wine, that people can drink everyday, Praedium wines, that are produced by Oltradige vineyards, and the great Cornell wines which have an enormous international value.
