The Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi “Massaccio” of the Fazi Battaglia winery is an excellent white wine obtained with the best Verdicchio grapes harvested on the great hills of Cupramontana, in the province of Ancona. Thanks to the particular climatic conditions of these hills, with cool nights and hot and dry days, the grapes are left to overripe and are harvested late respect to the normal harvest date. With a nice golden yellow color, at nose it has pleasant hints of ripe fruit due to the presence of the noble rot with notes of mint and dates. In the mouth it comes fresh and delicate, composite. Endowed with a long and persistent final, it is exceptional to drink in combination with savory starters such as “vitello tonnato” and Russian salad.
The Fazi Battaglia winery was founded in 1949 by the union of the Fazi and Battaglia families. A few years later, the winery was sold to the pharmacist Angelini who began to devote himself to the production of a quality Verdicchio; thanks to his courage and his intuition, the Fazi Battaglia winery became a point of reference of Italian enology. Today the Fazi Battaglia winery is part of the Bertani Domains group, owned by the Angelini family, which gathers great expressions of Italian enology.
