The Valpolicella Ripasso of Bertani winery derives its name from the antique enological technique of the “ripasso” that consists of to pass again the Valpolicella wine on the Recioto marcs, giving in this way the wine suitable for a longest refinement. The Valpolicella Ripasso of Bertani is made with Corvina Veronese grapes combined with a small percentage of Merlot and Rondinella grapes. At sight it shows a beautiful intense purple red color with violet reflexes. At nose it emanates fragrances of berries and strawberries, while on the palate it comes round and enveloping with a long and persistent final. It is exceptional to drink combined with pasta with “carbonara” sauce, roasts and medium-aged cheeses.

The cave arises in 1857 in Verona and it was established by Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani. The importance of this cave is that it was one of the first Italian wineries to understand the value of the wine in bottles: for this reason lots of investments were made in the vineyards, in order to bottle and export Italian quality. Today Bertani is a cave that places its wines in the world: moreover it includes vineyards abd caves of Valpolicella, in addition to some territories in the Garda’s Lake.
