Barbera d'Asti docg "La Tota" Marchesi Alfieri 2017

The Barbera d'Asti "La Tota" of Marchesi Alfieri is a red wine of Piedmont with excellent structure, complexity and intensity. It is made with grapes of Barbera, grown on vineyards of different ages and exposure. It has an intense ruby red color, while in the nose it has aromas of ripe red fruit with a scent of vanilla. This Barbera has a soft, well-structured and balanced taste. It is perfect to drink in combination with first courses with ragù, risotto of mushroom, aged cheeses and second courses of meat.

The cave was founded 20 years ago in the Alfieri Castle in the locality of San Martino Alfieri. Among the different and famous personalities, that inhabited the castle and appreciated wine and territory, there were the architect Benedetto and above all the Senate President Cesare Alfieri. Presently the cave, that counts 25 hectares of vineyards, is in the hands of the three sisters Emanuela, Giovanna and Antonella, who have appraised the historical heritage and they have exalt this castle’s building, too.
