More info

The Barbaresco Basarin by Moccagatta is an excellent red wine made with 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown on the hills of Neive. Featuring a beautiful intense garnet red color, the nose expresses an intense and fruity bouquet, with warm notes of cherry and plum, on a slightly spicy background. In the mouth it is broad and rich, with important but balanced tannins. A wine with a long and persistent finish, the Barbaresco Basarin by Moccagatta is perfect to drink in combination with roasted or stewed red meats, cured meats and hard cheeses.

Manufacturer

In 1800 Giovanni Minuto was the owner of some estates in the locality of Barbaresco: these territories began to be used by Giovanni’s son, Luigi, in order to produce wine. Lorenzo and Mario divided the management of the winery in 1952: in that moment Mario inherited the Moccagatta’s estate, that gives the name to the cave. Today the winery is carried out by Francesco and Sergio, with the help of their sons Stefano and Martina. They work the 15 hectares of vineyards and they manage to produce about 65 000 bottles every year.
