Barbaresco docg Moccagatta 2020

The Barbaresco by Moccagatta is an elegant and fine red wine, produced with carefully selected Nebbiolo grapes from three vineyards at lower altitudes than the company's other Barbarescos and characterized by different soils. This ensures that a fresh and ready-to-drink wine is obtained, characterized by a beautiful bright garnet red colour. The bouquet is broad and floral, intense, with hints of small ripe reds and violets, with delicate vanilla notes. In the mouth is has a rich and enveloping taste, with a good structure. The Barbaresco by Moccagatta pairs perfectly with roasts and braised meats, pasta with meat sauce and medium-aged cheeses.

In 1800 Giovanni Minuto was the owner of some estates in the locality of Barbaresco: these territories began to be used by Giovanni’s son, Luigi, in order to produce wine. Lorenzo and Mario divided the management of the winery in 1952: in that moment Mario inherited the Moccagatta’s estate, that gives the name to the cave. Today the winery is carried out by Francesco and Sergio, with the help of their sons Stefano and Martina. They work the 15 hectares of vineyards and they manage to produce about 65 000 bottles every year.
