More info

Il Barolo by Castello di Verduno is an elegant red wine made with Nebbiolo grapes coming from the vineyards around Verduno. It's a complex and extremely elegant wihe: in the glass it is ruby red with bright and intense shades. The bouquet is fruity and spiced, with hints of pepper, jam, cherry, thyme, geranium and violet. The sip is fresh but strong, with soft tannins and a long and persistent aftertaste. Barolo by Castello di Verduno is recommended with braised or roasted meat, game and matured cheese.

Manufacturer

The history of the the Castello di Verduno winery has its roots in the 1838, the year in which Re Carlo Alberto of Savoia purchased the Castle. He entrusted the management to General Staglieno, who was a military man and an expert enologist: he obtained a great wine from the best vineyards of Nebbiolo, the Barolo of Castello di Verduno. At the beginning of 1900’s the Burlotto family became the owner of the Castle and pursued the tradition in the wine making of Savoia. Nowadays Gabriella, Elisa and Liliana Burlotto manage the property producing great red wines, obtained by the wonderful combination of tradition, natural approach and great competence.
