Barbera d'Asti docg Superiore Alfiera Marchesi Alfieri 2005

Barbera d’Asti wine with a great personality; it takes the name from the homonymous vineyard planted in 1937. It has an intense ruby red colour with yellow-crowned reflexes and various smells of dog rose, mature cherry and blueberry, vanilla and cacao. Wine with a great structure and softness, with important taste it combines perfectly with flavourful platters, second courses of meat, roasts and medium or long seasoned cheeses.

The cave was founded 20 years ago in the Alfieri Castle in the locality of San Martino Alfieri. Among the different and famous personalities, that inhabited the castle and appreciated wine and territory, there were the architect Benedetto and above all the Senate President Cesare Alfieri. Presently the cave, that counts 25 hectares of vineyards, is in the hands of the three sisters Emanuela, Giovanna and Antonella, who have appraised the historical heritage and they have exalt this castle’s building, too.
