This international vineyard has found in the mountain’s ‘terroir’ the ideal place to give excellent results, by offering a good wine with clear transparency, straw yellow colour and green reflexes, so it is a kind of perfumed and soft wine. The wine has a medium structure and has a floral and a little herbaceous taste, with some presence of exotic fruit. The wine is fragrant and fresh, and it matches with traditional valdostano platters, as rise soups or other, but also with grass pies, veal with tuna sauce, in addition to fish’s platters.
Les Cretes winery arises in Aymavilles, thanks to the Charrère family, that represents the fifth generation. The vineyards extend in an area of 25 hectares, divided in 6 different districts at the foot of the Monte Bianco (Saint-Pierre, Aymavilles, Gressan, Sarre, Aosta and Saint-Christophe) and they are cultivated, for some morphological (high inclines) and historical (hereditary succession) reasons, to an elevation of 600-800 m s.l.m.. The soils, sandy and drained, of drumlin origins, present a strong mineral element. The fresh and elegant wines express the essence of the mountain terroir. The management of vineyards, above all manual, has as purpose a minimum use of topdressing, as it is expressed for the fighting to the environmental conservation.
