This is a typical, elegant Barbaresco wine, produced with grapes deriving from the “Rabajà” territory, situated in the district of Barbaresco. The colour of this wine is dark red, with orange nuances, while the smell is really rich of complex perfumes of plum, cherry and blueberry, together with violet, wild rose, spices and licorice. The taste is rich and warm, but at the same time persistent: in fact it is perfect if served with platters based on red meat, as roasts or braised beef, game, excellent first courses and seasoned cheeses.
The winery was established in 1958 and it is considered one of the most refined cave of the area. The history of the cave is linked to that of Barbaresco: in fact 1894 is a fundamental year for this kind of wine. In that year, Domizio Cavazza, who was the headmaster of the Oenological School of Alba, created ‘The Social Caves of Barbaresco’ for the production of everyday and elegant wines. So the wine makers of this cave began to produce a quality of wine, that takes the name from the country where the cave was collocated. So, 1894 is the official year of the Barbaresco Wine’s birth. Today the cave is made up of 56 wine makers, that cultivated a territory of 100 hectares of vineyards.
