The Sauvignon of Jermann is characterized by an intense straw yellow colour, with many green reflexes and rich, fruited perfumes that remember apple, citrus fruits, acacia’s flowers and banana. This is a bit aromatic wine, while the taste is structured and elegant with a persistent acidity. This Sauvignon matches with sauce fish platters, shellfish, vegetables’ soups, grilled and backed fish.
In 1881 Anton Jermann, creator of this cave, decided to abandon the Austrian land of Burgenland and his estates in Slovenia, because he wanted to move to Friuli Venezia Giulia. Nowadays the cave is managed by Anton’s niece, Silvio, and the estate covers 150 hectares of white vineyards: the most important of them produces Vinnae, a type of wine created in 1983, that derives from the typical territory of Collio. Vinnae is a fresh and well-balanced wine, which respects all the characteristics of its soil. But the success of this winery derives from two kind of red wines , too: The Pignacolousse and the Mjzzu Blau&Blau.
