Barbera d'Alba doc Pio Cesare 2017

This is a refined Barbera d’Alba, produced with grapes deriving from both the vineyards of Pio family in Serralunga d’Alba, Sinio, Diano d’Alba, Grinzane Cavour and those of attached wine-makers that all along work with Pio family. The wine presents an intense ruby red colour, and it has a smell of dog rose and current, of mature blackberries and cherries. The Barbera grapes deriving from the area of Barolo give to this wine an important character, besides a good structure and complexity, with spiced hints and red fruit: in fact this wine is perfect if accompanied with lasagne, red meats, cheeses and salami.

Since 1881 the Pio Cesare’s cave represents the excellent tradition of Piedmont. It is the story of a family that safeguards the style of a Barolo, today very famous in the world, and also exported in more than 40 countries, with the same label that Pio Cesare wanted. Even now we follow the classical interpretation of the Barolo, that is engage our existence in creating wines that are able to exalt the territory.
