The Barbera d’Alba Pelisa of Monchiero Carbone has a characteristic ruby red color with violet reflexes. The aroma has an intense bouquet with fruity (blackberry, plum, blueberry) and spiced notes. The taste is full and pleasant, with a great structure and freshness and it is perfect if drunk with cured meats, stuffed dough, roast meats and cheese of medium aging.
Situated in Canale and in the heart of the Roero area, Monchiero Carbone winery has been founded in 1987. Marco Monchiero, a well-known enologist, and his wife Lucetta Carbone decided to unite the plots of their two families, who began to make wine at the beginning of 1900 and stopped a few years ago. The production of wine restarted in 1990, also because of the son Francesco who began to have enological studies. In the last years, the estate has grown up, thanks to the implantation of new vineyards: one of Arneis grapes on the Renesio hill, in Canale, and another one of nebbiolo grapes in the Anime hamlet. Mombirone and Printi vineyards, which are families propriety from many years, has been doubled.
