IL MOSNEL
In the heart of Franciacorta, in Camignone, stands the centuries-old residence inherited by the Borboglio family in 1836. In 1976, the estate was given the name “Mosnel,” a Celtic word meaning “pile of stones,” on which the winery is situated. Today, the fifth generation leads Il Mosnel: Giulio Barzanò oversees the production and commercial aspects of the estate, while his sister Lucia Barzanò manages the administration. The Mosnel estate’s 41 hectares of vineyards, almost contiguous, are cultivated according to certified organic practices on morainic soils rich in limestone and stones, dedicated to the three traditional Franciacorta varieties: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc. Low yields per hectare, hand-harvesting, and gentle pneumatic pressing are among the technical practices that contribute to the quality of Mosnel sparkling wines. Mosnel Franciacorta, whether cuvées or vintage wines, impress with their elegance and refinement. The estate produces eight sparkling wines encompassing a variety of styles.
