The Baron de Ladoucette winery was founded in 1787 by the Comte Lafond family, ancestors of the Ladoucette lineage, who acquired the Pouilly-Fumé vineyards from the illegitimate daughter of the then King of France, Louis XV. Considered one of the most renowned and long-standing wine estates in the Loire region, the estate was renamed in 1972 by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, who inherited the original holdings and expanded them with new parcels in Sancerre, Pouilly-Fuissé, Chablis, Champagne, and Chinon. Meticulous attention is paid to every phase of production and vineyard care, with a strong focus on environmental sustainability. Each cru is vinified separately to highlight the unique characteristics of each individual terroir and to enhance the natural elegance of the grapes. Thanks to the guidance of the current owner, the Maison Ladoucette has elevated Pouilly-Fumé to new heights of refinement and prestige, establishing it as a product of exceptional quality on par with the great international white wines.
