Château de Maniban dates back to the 17th century, when it was owned by the Castarède family. Today, the estate has 20 hectares of vineyards in the Bas Armagnac area, whose capital is the town of Eauze. This region is part of the more famous and historic area of Gascony, nestled between the Atlantic Ocean, the Pyrenees, and the Garonne River. Château Maniban is located in a territory renowned for French brandy, likely due to its unique geological and climatic characteristics. The Castarède family was founded in 1832 and is one of the oldest producers of Armagnac. Today, the estate is managed by Florence Castarède, who continues the cultural and gastronomic tradition that has been passed down and consolidated over six generations. The family’s vineyards in Bas Armagnac cover 16 hectares and consist of four grape varieties: Folle Blanche, Ugni Blanc, Colombard, and Bacò. The grapes produce a low-alcohol white wine with high acidity, ideal for Armagnac production. All distillation and bottling operations take place within the Maison, allowing full control and guaranteeing the highest possible quality.
