The Le Piane winery is located in the Monte Fenera Natural Park and was founded in 1998 by Christoph Kuenzli. The estate currently covers 9 hectares of vineyards on the hills of Novara, within the newly established Boca DOC. The wines produced reflect the volcanic origin of the soil and result from a careful selection of grapes among the rows, many of which are still cultivated using the traditional system known as “maggiorina.” Christoph Kuenzli deserves credit for introducing Boca wines to the world and for revitalizing a wine-growing area that was at risk of disappearing. All production is characterized by a common profile, emphasizing elegance, finesse, and a perfect balance between structure and drinkability, between extractive richness and freshness, between solidity and vibrancy.
