NINO COSTA
Nino Costa is a historic family-run winery in Montà d’Alba, in the heart of the Roero, a Piedmontese area renowned for its sandy, marine-origin soils and the elegance of its wines. For four generations, the Costa family has cultivated vineyards and produced wine, combining tradition, in-depth knowledge of the territory and a constant pursuit of quality. The winery owns approximately 10 hectares of vineyards in the Roero, with a history dating back to the early 20th century. Today, the winery is led by Alessandro Costa, an oenologist who, since 2009, has undertaken a process of renewal in both production and ageing techniques, while maintaining a strong connection with the land of Montà d’Alba and the family’s winemaking tradition. Nino Costa’s production focuses on some of the most representative grape varieties and wines of the Roero and Piedmont, with particular emphasis on Arneis and Nebbiolo, alongside Barbera and Dolcetto. Among the winery’s most representative labels are Roero Arneis DOCG, an expression of the area’s vocation for elegant Piedmontese white wines, and Roero DOCG Gepin, made from Nebbiolo and distinguished by its greater structure and depth. The range also includes Roero DOCG Riserva Gepin, Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC Carlun, Langhe Nebbiolo DOC Cabora, Barbera d’Alba DOC Cichin and Bardot, and Dolcetto d’Alba DOC Capel. The Roero’s soils, shaped by ancient marine sands, contribute to the wines’ distinctive combination of freshness, finesse and a strong sense of place. This close relationship with the landscape and the soils of the Roero makes Nino Costa’s wines particularly appealing to those looking to discover authentic expressions of Piedmont.
