CAVALLERI
The Cavalleri Winery is a jewel set in the splendid setting of Franciacorta, among gentle, verdant hills cultivated with vineyards and olive groves. Always family-run, the Cavalleri family had already owned and cultivated vineyards as far back as 1450. It was at the end of the 1960s that the history of the estate took a new turn: in 1967, Franciacorta was officially recognized as a DOC wine-producing area, and Cavalleri began bottling its own wines, which until then had been sold in bulk. Brothers Paolo and Giovanni left the company’s historic headquarters to move to a new facility, and in 1979 the first bottles of Franciacorta were produced. The grapes used are Chardonnay, from which a sublime Blanc de Blancs is made, aged on the lees for at least 24 months. This cuvée thus became the winery’s signature wine, and today Cantine Cavalleri is a local and international benchmark for Franciacorta production. The company’s goal is clear and tangible: to produce wines of the highest quality that reflect the territory and are the result of traditional winemaking methods.
