FAMIGLIA COTARELLA

The Cotarella family originated in the 1960s in Monterubiaglio with the founders Antonio and Domenico Cotarella. In 1979, brothers Renzo and Riccardo founded Falesco, and the next generation, led by their three daughters, saw the creation of the new Cotarella brand. In 2017, a Tuscan estate, Le Macioche, was acquired, allowing the family to enter the market with wines from this region as well. The Cotarella family estates in Umbria are located in the upper Tiber Valley, in the municipalities of Montecchio and Baschi. The approximately 260 hectares of vineyards stretch across a hill south of Orvieto. The same area also hosts an experimental vineyard, where more than 25 grape varieties are cultivated. Alongside Italian wine production, the Liaison brand represents the Cotarella family’s connection with the houses of select producers, distributing their exceptional wines.
