COCCHI
Giulio Cocchi is a Piedmontese winery renowned internationally for its production of top-quality sparkling wines and vermouths. Founder Giulio Cocchi was a Florentine pastry chef who moved to Asti and founded the Cocchi estate in 1891 with the ambition of producing wines of great elegance and finesse. He specialized in the production of aromatized wines based on Moscato, created his own recipe for Barolo Chinato, and created the Aperitivo Americano and vermouths. The ingenious turning point of the era was the opening of specialized shops where people could taste and purchase the beverages he personally created: thus, Cocchi began to become synonymous with innovation, sophistication, and charm. Even today, all the products in the range are wine-based, and the secret recipes call for the use of the highest-quality ingredients. As for sparkling wine production, the estate cultivates Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards and offers both long-aged classic method sparkling wines and easy-drinking, yet never boring, Charmat sparkling wines. The Cocchi product range is wide and varied, but every single bottle is synonymous with meticulous production, a distinct and authentic style, and the highest quality standards. The Cocchi estate has been owned by the Bava family since 1978.
