This Barbera d’Alba owns an own character: it shows a ruby red colour and some black red reflexes, while the smell of it offers an intense bouquet with mature red fruit’, blackberries’, black cherries’, tobacco’, menthol’, vanilla’, toasted wood’, black pepper’ and nutmeg’s scents. This wine has a good body and its taste is a little bit dry and sour, but persistent and well-structured. Furthermore, it accompanies flavourful first courses, typical second courses and seasoned cheeses.

The cave of Giacomo Vico is situated in Canale, near the historical centre, where the green hills descend towards the country. The history of this winery goes back up the end of 1800, even if we have not official documents in which the date of the wine trade’s beginning appears, we can say around 1890. Giacomo began to produce all the typical wines of the territory. Today, the successors are inspired by the spirit of their grandfather, and so they look for create high quality wine, by using grapes which derive from Roero’s area.
