The Pinot Noir of Domaine Faivelay is an excellent Burgundy red wine, produced with selected grapes coming from Cote de Nuits. After a 12-14 months refinement in oak barrels, it shows a bright ruby red color; in the nose it develops delicate, fruity and floral aromas that remind red currant and raspberry. The sip is elegant and structured, with round and fine tannins. The Pinot Noir of Domaine Faivelay is excellent to drink in combination with roast beef, mushroom risotto, cold cuts and medium seasoned cheeses.
The Domaine Faiveley was founded by Pierre Faiveley in 1825; for 7 generations the company has been handed down from father to son and the currently is owned by Erwin Faiveley. The Domaine Faiveley, located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, is considered the largest and most important maison of Borgogna thanks also to its vineyards that include the best cru of the region. Particular attention is paid to work in the vineyard, respecting nature and biodiversity. After the harvest, done strictly by hand and only when each bunch of grapes reached the ideal stage of ripening, the grapes are fermented on the indigenous yeast in open wooden vats. The wines are left to age in French oak barrels from 12 to 18 months and then they are bottled without filtration.
