Monleale Colli Tortonesi doc Vigneti Massa 2016

Monleale by Vigneti Massa winery is an excellent Barbera wine obtained blending grapes grown in different vineyards, following the traditional and artisanal methods. It's a rich, fragrant, intense evolved and complex red wine. Aged for two years in barriques and one year in bottle, “Monleale” has an intense garnet red color; the bouquet is rich and pleasant with notes of fruits, chocolate and herbs.According to its elegance and softness, we recommend it with first courses and meat sauces, red meat and mature cheese.

The Vigneti Massa winery was founded in 1879 and now boasts a property of 23 hectares on the hills of Monleale, in Piedmont about 300 meters above sea level. We find the typical wines of the area such as Barbera, the Croatina and the Freisa, but especially the Timorasso, to which 10 hectares are reserved. Thanks to Walter Massa, defined as “Timorasso’s father” the rebirth of this white wine typical of Colli Tortonesi is due. Wlater Massa is an independent and courageous winemaker who has not chosen to use a denomination for many of his labels because he is convinced that the wine is made in the vineyard, in the cellar, and not with brands and documents.
