The Kir-Yianni winery was founded in 1997 by Yiannis Boutaris, that was one of the most important people in the Greek world of wine. The winery covers 58 hectares grown on Xinomavro, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The vineyards are located in a very favourable position: the Vermion mountains defends the vieyards against the cold winds from the North in winte, while produce a fresh breeze in summer. Actually the winery is managed by Stellios Boutaris: he belongs to the fifth generation and he try to make his wines following an innovative philosophy with respect for the typical tradition of Kir-Yianni
