Biovio, owned by Aimone Giobatta Vio, is a winery located in the medieval village of Bastia d’Albenga, in the heart of Liguria. Since the beginning, the company has always been run by the family and currently the founder’s daughters work at the winery taking care of each aspect of the production chain. They also own a very cozy and lovely holiday farm, located just next to the winery. Respect for nature and the prohibition to use weedkillers or chemical fertilizers is one of the main company pillars. This is why, in 1989, the winery was awarded with the official organic recognition. Currently the winery owns 9 hectares of vineyards where only the local vine varieties are grown: Rossese, Granaccia, Vermentino and Pigato. Biovio goal is preserving the artisanal wine methods and producing wines that mirror the original terroir, without using any manipulation or modification. This is the way to celebrate the Ligurian tradition and richness with a contemporary and respectful approach.
