The Ceretto agricultural estate was founded in the 1930s in Alba, the undisputed capital of the Langhe. Riccardo, the family patriarch, followed over time by his sons Bruno and Marcello, had a clear idea in mind: to cultivate historically renowned, high-quality vineyards and vinify their grapes separately. This idea was the result of a trip to Burgundy, where it had long been common practice to separate vineyard parcels during vinification, allowing each cru to be unique and free to express its most authentic nature. Years later, this then-avant-garde choice would prove right for the Ceretto family and elevate the company’s production to the highest levels of quality, fame, and prestige. Today, fifty years after that farsighted decision, Ceretto is one of the largest wine-growing estates in Piedmont, with over 160 hectares located among the hills of Langhe and Roero, particularly within the DOCG areas of Barolo and Barbaresco. Under the guidance of Alessandro Ceretto, each vineyard is cultivated following strict organic farming rules, for which the estate was certified in 2015. Ceretto is committed to constant attention and care for the environment and strives to produce wines that reflect the deepest and most authentic identity of their native terroir using innovative but never invasive techniques. The result is a broad range of wines, all united by purity, refinement, and elegance.
