The story of Cantina Lupi begins in the 1960s in Pieve di Teco, in the inland area of Imperia, with Tommaso Lupi who when we was only 24 years old, driven by his passion for wine and oenology, founded the company that bears his name. The ultimate goal was clear and determined: to cultivate only native Ligurian grape varieties and dedicate every possible care and attention to them, bringing them to excellence. Over time, the company expanded to include 6 hectares of vineyards planted with Pigato, Vermentino, Ormeasco, Rossese, and Granaccia, with an average annual production of about 70,000 bottles. Tommaso Lupi's foresight was remarkable: he is recognized as the pioneer of aging Pigato, making it the first white wine suitable for aging in wood. In 2020, Peq Agri, a company that has always operated in the agri-food sector supporting native excellence, acquired Cantina Lupi. This significant step allowed Lupi to grow both in terms of wine production and vineyard area, promoting the spread of the historic grape varieties of Liguria’s inland region.
