Founded in 2016, Azienda Agricola Cordero Gabriele is a young, family-run winery located in Priocca, in the heart of the Roero region, Piedmont. The project was born with the goal of restoring the land and the old farmhouse once owned by Gabriele’s paternal grandparents, with a focus on producing high-quality wines in full respect of the local environment and biodiversity. With 8 hectares of vineyards spread between the municipalities of Priocca and Vezza d’Alba, the estate primarily cultivates native grape varieties such as Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Arneis, alongside a small percentage of Riesling, Timorasso, and Bianver. The vineyards, situated at around 300 meters above sea level, grow on soils composed of sand, clay, and blue marl, and are farmed using sustainable practices that promote local biodiversity and enhance the grapes’ aromatic and structural qualities. Most vineyard operations are carried out manually, reflecting a hands-on, artisanal approach. In the winery, fermentations begin with the use of pied de cuve and take place at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Depending on the wine, aging is carried out in steel, French oak barriques, or large casks. Among the winery’s most notable labels are:
With an annual production of around 20,000 bottles, the winery stands out for its commitment to quality and environmental stewardship, crafting wines that tell the story of the Cordero family’s deep-rooted passion for the unique Roero landscape.
