Description

Lively, juicy, and authentic, the Barbera d’Alba DOC by Gabriele Cordero is a red wine that immediately and sincerely expresses the most genuine soul of the Barbera grape and the Roero territory. Made from 100% Barbera grapes, grown in a vineyard located between Priocca and Castellinaldo at about 300 meters above sea level, on sandy and marl-rich soils, this Barbera represents the freshest, most food-friendly and everyday expression of the variety—crafted for a satisfying and versatile drinking experience. The grapes are carefully selected, hand-harvested into small crates, and cooled overnight before pressing. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, to enhance the fruit and aromatic precision. The wine is then aged for a few months in stainless steel, preserving its vibrant freshness. On the nose, it opens with fruity aromas of cherry, redcurrant, and wild berries, accompanied by delicate floral notes. On the palate, it is juicy, fresh, and lively, with a bright acidity that enhances its drinkability. The finish is clean, flavorful, and marked by lingering notes of sour cherry and raspberry. Best enjoyed young, the Barbera d’Alba by Gabriele Cordero is a perfect companion at the table: it pairs effortlessly with cured meats, hearty pasta dishes, grilled meats, and semi-aged cheeses. A pleasant, honest, and well-crafted red, this wine showcases the artisanal spirit and elegance of Cordero’s style. While intended for early drinking, it can also age gracefully for 3–5 years from the vintage.
