CONTERNO FANTINO
Conterno Fantino Winery was founded in the early 1980s by Lorenzo Conterno, who entrusted his estate to his son Diego, his nephew Claudio, and his son-in-law Guido Fantino. Although young, the three already had significant experience: Diego already owned his own winery, Claudio was responsible for the vineyard operations, and Guido was a winemaker and cellar master. The first bottles were released in 1982, fully expressing the power and character of the Langhe soils. Today, the estate is run according to organic farming principles, and the vineyards extend across some of the most renowned crus for Barolo production: Ginestra, Mosconi, Castelletto, and Bussia. The historic winery has been recently renovated and uses renewable energy sources for all production processes. Conterno Fantino wines are expressive, robust, and have remarkable aging potential. Long macerations and slow aging in wood impart great refinement, balance, and the highest quality to the wines.
