Founded in 1946 by Etienne Guigal in Ampuis, within the Côte-Rôtie appellation, the estate offers a wide selection of wines, renowned worldwide for more than 2,400 years. Later, in 1995, the estate acquired the famous Château d’Ampuis, a highly significant historical and oenological monument whose history is closely linked to the Côte-Rôtie appellation. It became the home of the estate’s own cooperage, a choice that reflects the pursuit of excellence and meticulous attention to every stage of wine production. The château is surrounded by vineyards and borders the Rhône River, and it has recently become the headquarters of the Guigal Estate. Viticulture methods are always aligned with the surrounding environment; moreover, everything is aimed at preventing vine parasites. Nowadays, Guigal owns about 60 hectares of vineyards managed according to integrated farming principles.
