More info

The Dolcetto is the traditional wine of the Gillardi winery: it is cultivated on the high ground of Farigliano, on the small hill of Corsaletto, from which it takes the name "Cursalet." The Dolcetto of Gillardi is a red wine, fresh and structured, with a nice intense red ruby color and shades of red purple. In the nose it develops intense, clean, pleasant and refined aromas that open with notes of amarena, blueberry and violet, followed by hints of raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, plum and licorice. The final is persistent with recall of red fruits. You can combine the Dolcetto di Dogliani Cursalet by Gillardi with aged cheeses or second dishes with meat like stews and roasts.

Manufacturer

The farmstead and the plot of land of the Gillardi winery are located in Farigliano, in the heart of the Langa Monregalese. Here the great-grandfather Giovanni Battista, when returned from Provenza where he had emigrated at the end of 1800, purchased the farmhouse Corsaletto in 1923 and big parts of the vineyards that nowadays are owned by Gillardi.  The Gillardi winery began producing the Dolcetto mainly, that was initially sold unbottled. When Giacolino arrived he convinced everybody that it was the moment to bottle on one’s own. in the 1993, Giacolino Gillardi thanks to his experience decided to cultivate in addition to the Dolcetto prestigious international grape varieties, from which he made the Harys, the Merlò and the Granè wines.
