The Cerasuolo di Vittoria is the only wine of Sicily that can boast of the mark of Denominazione di origine Controllata e Garantita. The Cerasuolo is cultivated in south-eastern Sicily, more precisely in the province of Ragusa, Caltanissetta and Catania, where the soils are rather poor, rich in sand and calcareous components. This wine is made with two great Sicilian vine varieties, the Nero d'Avola and Frappato ones, which give life to a wine characterized by a bright ruby red color, rich fruity aromas and a good structure.
