Description

The 1998 Roero Superiore by Malvirà represents an excellent expression of Nebbiolo cultivation in the Roero territory, showcasing the skill and experience of the Malvirà winery in producing high-quality wines. At sight, it presents an intense ruby red color, with garnet hues suggesting its maturity and complexity. On the nose, an intriguing and complex aromatic bouquet emerges, characterized by notes of ripe red fruits such as cherries, plums, and black currants, harmoniously blending with elegant hints of spices, tobacco, in addition to nuances of vanilla and chocolate. On the palate, it stands out for its structure and softness. Its tannins, now softened by extended aging, blend harmoniously, leaving a velvety and enveloping sensation. Pleasant spicy notes also emerge, adding further depth to the palate. The finish is long and persistent, characterized by a pleasant warmth and complexity. The 1998 Roero Superiore by Malvirà is perfect to enjoy with traditional dishes of Piedmontese cuisine, such as braised meats, agnolotti with meat sauce, or aged cheeses. The 1998 vintage was particularly favorable, allowing the Malvirà winery to obtain a wine of extraordinary complexity and longevity, capable of captivating even the most demanding palates.
