Intense straw yellow
Elegant and complex
Wide and sapid
"Fausto" Timorasso is an extraordinary white wine—elegant, deeply rooted in its territory—produced by Vigna Marina Coppi, a winery located in Castellania, in the heart of the Colli Tortonesi. It is dedicated to Fausto Coppi, an iconic figure in Italian cycling and a symbol of these hills, and grandfather of the current owner. This wine represents the purest expression of Timorasso, an ancient indigenous Piedmontese grape variety rediscovered in recent decades. It is made from grapes grown exclusively in estate-owned vineyards and hand-harvested in small crates. In the glass, it shows a brilliant deep straw yellow color, and on the nose it offers complex and refined aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit, wildflowers, and aromatic herbs, with elegant mineral notes and a subtle touch of honey and hydrocarbons typical of aged Timorasso. On the palate, it is structured, broad, and savory, with remarkable freshness and a long, mineral finish. Thanks to its great aging potential, this Timorasso is also excellent after a few years in the bottle, evolving into even more complex and layered aromas. Vigna Marina Coppi’s "Fausto" Timorasso pairs beautifully with fish dishes, seafood crudo, aged cheeses, white meats, and delicate risottos. It's also a surprising match for Asian or spiced cuisine.
