The Colli Tortonesi “Francesca” of Vigne Marina Coppi Francesca is made with Timorasso grapes grown on the hills of Alessandria, in the town where Fausto Coppi was born. After 6 months of aging in bottle, the wine shows at sight a straw yellow colour and a floral and fruity bouquet, with notes of sweet honey and acacia flowers, on a background of aromatic herbs. With a pleasant and fresh taste, with a good structure and flavor, it’s perfect if drunk in combination with summer salads, white meats and medium-aged cheeses.
The Marina Coppi winery was born in 2003 in Castellania, in the province of Alessandria. The founder is Francesco Bellocchio, the nephew of the famous Italian cyclist Fausto Coppi; the love for this territory inspired him, who created this small winery to pay tribute to the prestigious Piedmontese wines.
The farmed area is a land of few hectares, with a production of 25,000 bottles per year: this allows following directly any production phases, from cultivation to harvest, up to the wine making in cellar.
The connection with the land, the ethical choices and the passion for this territory make this young winery and its wines, a rising star for the Italian wine overview.
