The Pergole Torte is the most famous wine of Monteverdine winery.
It is elegant and it’s wine easily recognizable thanks to the label made by the painter Alberto Manfredi, which represents a fascinating women face.
Produced with accurately selected Sangiovese grapes, on view it shows a brilliant ruby red color.
At nose, it gets off a complex and elegant bouquet with deep notes of violet, vanilla, raspberry and in addition to mineral scents on the final.
In mouth, it is wide and complex with ripe tannins and an excellent persistence on the final.
With an excellent ageing potential, it is perfect to drink in combination with roasted and grilled meats, game, pasta and risotto with meat sauce and seasoned cheeses.
The Montevertine winery is located in the city of Radda in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti production area.
The origins of this domain are very ancient, but the owner Mr. Manetti decided to use the lands for producing wine only in 1967.
The first vintage of Chianti came out in 1971; in this year it obtained a great success at the Vinitaly wine fair in Verona so Mr Manetti decided to buy new lands and new vineyards to increase the production.
Today, with the founder’s death, his son Martino and the enologist Paolo Salvi who continue to follow the company’s philosophy that is to produce the great wines of Tuscan tradition, conduct the winery.
